@firstname.lastname@example.org kodi is weird and alsa is weirder. I have succeeded in playing non-chipmunk audio from a 44.1kHz source using (1) an alsa
plug device with a 44100Hz fixed-rate slave assigned to hw:0, (2) a kodi
advancedsettings config that hardcodes the device instead of letting kodi's "enumeration" heuristics fail to find the right one.
Without this it opens the device at 48000 and plays it the same audio bits without resampling.
Kodi advice on the internet is more full of cargo cult than the XDA forum
